SCHOOL FUNDRAISER

Is your school looking for the perfect fundraiser? Stop trying to sell wrapping paper, cookie dough, and worthless trinkets. Let Be Ready Inc. help you raise the money you need! Call Chris at 760-637-1229.

Be Ready, Inc began as Be Ready Disaster Preparedness in 1991 when Al Cabacungan and a partner decided to create a one-stop-shop for families and communities preparing to be self-reliant during disasters.  At the time, the idea was so new that Entrepreneur Magazine highlighted the venture, and late-night programs like Jay Leno and David Letterman made fun of Californians putting together 72-hour kits and selling supplies for long-term water and food storage.

Now over 20 years later, the laughter has ceased, as they have helped customers face earthquakes, hurricanes, tsunamis, Y2K, 9/11, food shortages, contaminated water supplies and a host of other disasters. Be Ready, Inc. is dedicated helping communities become educated and self-reliant in the face of ever-increasing turmoil worldwide.

Through seminars, webinars, websites and a retail storefront, they make disaster preparedness accessible to anyone searching for supplies.

Al Cabacungan:

A popular seminar speaker, Al is known for his straightforward, fast-paced presentations and for his enthusiasm for helping people become self-reliant using the most current and reliable products he can find. He was educated in business administration, insurance and retail marketing, but has most enjoyed being an entrepreneur since 1984.  On the side he is a drummer in the band Flying Mangos and is a respected baseball umpire.

Erica Cabacungan:

Has a BA degree in English/Elementary Education and a MEd degree in Secondary Education. She has taught at elementary school and college levels, has a LSP degree in bookstore retailing, and is the buyer for Be Ready, Inc, which she and her husband operate.  As such, she has ongoing daily retail experience, and attends many trade shows and conventions to purchase the best new products for disaster preparedness and food/water storage.   This knowledge interfaces with her lifelong experience in food/water storage principles and time-tested supplies.  She also writes reference articles for www.bereadyinc.com, www.learntobeready.com and www.learntobereadyblog.com. She is the mother of 7 children, a grandmother and an avid reader/researcher.

Adam Cabacungan:

The son of Al and Erica Cabacungan, and as such, grew up helping at Be Ready Inc in various capacities.  His education in Business Management has made him a valuable contributor to the ongoing development and growth of the business, bringing a love of technology and networking to his assignment as Vice President of Operations.

Adam is a father and has grown up in a family which has practiced the principles of self reliance for generations.  He is also an umpire and enjoys golf, surfing and volleyball.

Chris Chauncey, Director of Marketing

Chris has been involved in sales for more than 30 years. After moving to San Diego in 1986 he began working for Home Life Insurance company and received the fast start award in his first year. Within four years he was the #2 salesman in national sales. He attributes his success to the educational seminars that he delivered throughout San Diego.

This experience in seminars led him to Emerald Publications, a new company, that provided marketing materials to insurance agents and companies, along with training. He was their national trainer and eventually was promoted to Vice President of Sales.

In April of 2011 he joined Al at Be Ready, Inc. with a desire to train and educate people on the necessities of disaster preparedness. Using these same seminar skills he has developed an educational seminar along with a website www.learntobeready.com. He works with his wife, Judy, who is a freelance news reporter, to research the material used in his seminars. Combining this research and the knowledge and experience that Al and his family have in disaster preparedness their training programs are exactly what people need in today's world to survive large scale disasters.

He is the father of four daughters and enjoys running, the beach, travel and playing the banjo.
